Jüterbog visit
Last Thursday I had a nice train journey to Jüterbog. It lies south of Berlin and takes about 35 minutes to get there. It was very hot, 32°C but we have had these temperatures for just over a week. I like it but many complain that it is ‘too hot’. I just think about the long cold winter days and smile!
I went to see Jürgen and Dieter. They also complained about the heat but from the perspective of not being able to spend all day working or sitting in their garden. At least I enjoyed many products of their garden, particularly strawberries. I love them and fortunately we had them in jelly as a desert and later as a strawberry torte with cream. Mmmm – delicious.
Here are a couple of photos. I was thinking about Andrea when I took them for I remember getting an e-mail from her saying, “I looked at your blog recently and you are always eating!” Congratulations to Andrea for she has just passed her exams for a Bachelor Degree, and she is moving into a new flat.

Last Wednesday I headed off for Jüterbog to visit Jürgen and Dieter for a late celebration of their 65th birthdays a couple of weeks ago. They are leaving for a holiday in the Tyrol at the same time as I am in England so this was a good day to meet, and the weather was warm and sunny.
Jürgen is a hobby cook and created a very tasty salmon dish, eaten with a glass of dry white wine. Perfect! We then walked to their garden where we looked at their flowers and I collected some apples to take back with me. The visit ended with Kaffe und Kuchen and a happy train journey back to Berlin. Always nice to visit them.
Posting this on Sunday 27 Sept. which is election day in Germany. I’m leaving for Köpenick in an hour to meet Oldie Hermann then off to a restaurant in a forest followed by a long walk to lose a few calories. I shall watch the election reports this evening on my return. Although I can’t vote, I am very interested in the outcome. Have a nice day each!
